Note also that this report indicates that the tide may be turning for US hotels in terms of who holds the rate power. Analysts are warning travel agents: “buyers should tighten and strengthen their hotel programs in preparation for what appears to be difficult negotiations looming at year-end.”

So to all hotel sales directors – note to self – be prepared for 2012 rate negotiations, – if the US market is shifting to the positive, will other markets ride off the back of this, and will you go for increased rate? What do you think?
